Frequently asked questions about the best time to visit
When is the best time to visit Thailand?
For Bangkok and the north it is most pleasant from November to February, on the Andaman Sea with Phuket, Krabi and Khao Lak from December to March, and in the Gulf with Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao from February to September. The table on this page shows which month suits which place.
Which month is driest in Thailand?
February has the most dry places, with 18 of 20, followed by January with 17. A place counts as dry with under 60 millimetres of rain in the month.
In which months does no place in Thailand stay dry?
In May, June, July, August, September and October, none of the 20 places stays under 60 millimetres of rain. Even then there are places where it rains much less than elsewhere, for example in the Gulf or in Hua Hin.
