What the app can do

Thailand’s Immigration Bureau now has its own app. It is called THIM (Thai Immigration Application) and has been available since 1 August 2026 in the App Store, on Google Play and in the Huawei AppGallery. It has already been downloaded more than 600,000 times.

So far it cannot do much. You can fill in the TDAC digital arrival card in it, and under “Explore Thailand” there is some travel information for tourists.

More services are due to follow later. The Bureau lists appointment booking, certificates of residence, extension of stay, the 90-day report and visa on arrival. There is no date for these yet.

The TDAC website stays, so you do not have to switch to the app.

Do you have to switch now?

Nothing changes for your arrival. The TDAC is still mandatory and costs nothing. You fill it in no earlier than 3 days before arrival, either in the app or, as before, on tdac.immigration.go.th.

Only download the app from the official app store and check that it really comes from the Thai immigration authority. If an app or website asks for money for the TDAC, it is not from the authority.

If you are staying longer: the 90-day report and extension of stay are handled at the immigration office as usual for now. In the app, these functions have only been announced so far.

How to fill in the TDAC in the app and what happens to your data is covered in the guide THIM app for Thailand.

I have put together what else you need for entry in the guide Entry to Thailand 2026.
